Hello everyone. June is here already. Is it scorching hot out there? It is pretty hot out here where I am!
Like recent hot weather, I have some hot news to share with you. It is an article about the peace forum hosted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) in June. You can check the full text of the article via the link here (https://bit.ly/2wT5m73).
The 2nd Nepal media peace forum named “Voice of Press” was hosted by HWPL in Kathmandu, Nepal. With the participation of 15 journalists, the peace forum covered multiple topics including peacebuilding and public awareness of peace. The forum went on smoothly as it did previously! During the forum, 15 journalists discussed raising public awareness of ideas of peace, avoiding violence and extremism, and the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), an international legal framework addressing prevention of wars and establishing and maintaining permanent peace.
The DPCW was drafted by international legal experts and consists of 10 articles and 38 clauses.
Laxman D. Pant, chairman of the Media Action Nepal, stated that the DPCW should be introduced and journalists should prioritize peace over others. Journalists who participated in the forum also expressed their agreement to his statement. In addition to putting efforts on peacebuilding, one of the media’s main roles is to spread out messages of peace. I sincerely hope that journalists and media channels around the world can fulfill their duty of spreading the culture of peace like as what Nepalese journalists and media have done here.
